PALANIVEL KELING PARIAN’S COW PONGGAL VS”KOLAVERI DR ROSMAH MANSOR:VOTING WITH DOLLARS: A NEW PARADIGM FOR CAMPAIGN

Predicting electoral outcomes in Malaysiais a risky businessnow; god knows how many psephologists have had to eat dirt as the electorate proved to be more volatile than the the share market. But the voterspatterns are tracked by the media, many a times, they are not.
As Najib hits the campaign trail, there is a lot of speculation over how the voting ‘pattern’ in Malaysia would shape up. After years of investing time and energy as the prime minister, will the Najib scion’s developmental agenda work? Or will Pakatan’s social engineering get the numbers again?

It was like watching the Tamil movie ‘SIVAKASI’ where protagonist brings on a famous movie star (Nayantara) to dance and captivate the people to vote for him, but the hero, Vijay whose sister is the opposition candidate, steals the show right under the protagonist’s nose. now watch Big Mike making his appearance

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE NUMBERS AND WREST KAPAR FROM BIG MIKE’ ( MP FOR KAPAR, S MANICKAVASAGAM).

Well, MIC and Astro went to all the trouble of bringing in the famous “Koothu” singers and film stars from Kollywood (Tamil Bollywood) to grace the event by singing “koothu” songs and dance to the tune of these. The Kapar Kilat Clup ground was fully covered for the event, I’m sure big ‘moolahs’ were spent for the artistes as well as the TV direct telecast. Well, perhaps it could have been free since Astro has a soft spot for the current government.

and the belated Ponggal Festival in Kapar began without the the true essence of Ponggal in the air or in the hearts of those who attended.

Why this “kolaveri ” Ponggal celebration, and why did MIC make a fool out of the Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Dr Rosmah Mansor, ministers in dutiful attendance Koh Tsu Koon, Liow Tiong Laiand Rais Yatim. Well, the answer lies in the 13th general election or GE-13. Najib would have said to Palanivel ‘go ahead, make me a fool but make sure you get the numbers and wrest Kapar from Big Mike’ ( MP for Kapar, S Manickavasagam).

VOTING WITH DOLLARS: A NEW PARADIGM FOR CAMPAIGN

The questioning will end up with the lady rolling up her sleeves  shifting the sarong letting MACC a sleek preview inside: “I have enough files on your bosses. I can send them over but maybe I will put them on the Internet. So I think we just do a ‘sandiwara’ (act) for the sake of the public.”

For 3 solid hours Najib and Rosmah sat through the show looking bored and tired. During closeups of Rosmah, you could see that her face was melting. Why such an effect I don’t know, but it was weired

EVIL IN SAYANG VAN ROSMAH GOING ALLOUT  NAJIB MUST WIN

Part of a plan of Evil
The King maker in Selangor is the Malay vote. When Najib Razak said he would wrest back Selangor by ‘all ways and means’, he was confident because he knew that all he had to do was work on the Malay vote. And this is why it was so vital to get Hasan to sing Umno song to PAS members. The Malay community remains split down the line between these two giant parties, with relative newbie PKR also garnering a sizeable share. PAS and PKR are able to at any time command a combined 45 to 55 percent of the Malay vote. Umno needs to whittle this down by by at least 5 to 10 percent to be sure of victory.

The form of force used and the way it is administered may vary in specifics between the gangsters and UMNO but in essence they are the same – UMNO and the gangsters equally resort to force because that is the sole source of their power.

Evil knows no gender. Men and women can be used by the Devil to cause tragedy to the world. Whether she’s a mass murderer, a serial killer or a corrupt leader, evil lived or lives inside of them. Women are naturally nurturing and caring. Although these nine vicious ladies proved to be disgraceful, we should not forget that there have been countless admirable women in history who have made or tried to make this world a better place to live in.

After years of investing time and energy as the prime minister, will the Najib scion’s developmental agenda work? Or will Pakatan’s social engineering get the numbers again? Or is it going to be a three way contest with the RPK’s  third face making a comeback?

The best way to answer such complicated electoral question, I have discovered, is to have a glass of teh tarik at  the mamak stall in heartland Malaysia. A conversation over teh tarik with local villagers may not give you a seat by seat projection – but what it does – is paint a picture in stunning clarity on the electoral patterns that are emerging.

As Najib addressed  a small crowd in his his father’s stronghold, I conversed with stall  owners, barbers, farmers and sundry people who generally don’t make it to TV studios. While I am not speculating over who’s winning – but here’s why Najib is certainly not. Najib’s road to success is littered with potholes and speed breakers and there’s no changing that.

The pothole of inter-party rivalry –B.N candidate in the months to come, but his efforts will come to naught, given the lack of unity in the party at the state level. Party old-timers say that Mahathir and Muhaidin don’t see eye to eye on many matters and are out to sabotage each other. Compared to M.CA AND M.IC’s feuding leaders and belligerent hopefuls, pakatan looks like an oasis of stability. A fragmented UMNO will be one of najib’s biggest stumbling blocks.

The road block of RACE politics –
There is no doubt that B.N unassailable tally of SEATS would be dented this time. The question is who will get the spoils if dissidents split the vote? The M.CA AND M.I.C scores dead last here as well, since UMNO still votes on RACE lines and not on the basis of any developmental agenda – this time too, there is no evidence to show that the trend will change. najib is hoping that UMNO would do better in kedah , with people throwing PAS considerations out of the window; he  forgets is that it takes the image and experience of ANWAR  to make people vote away from RACE lines.

The speed breaker called BERSIH –
Many are touting G13 as a battle between anwar andnajib – but there is BERSIH a factor to consider as well. Even in the interiors of Malaysia, Ambiga and her message againstclean election has found an echo. While corruption will not be the sole issue in the elections, it will surely swing the votes away from the UMNO. Najib’s party is still not seen to have done much against inflation and corruption.

The stop sign of a regional face –
najib’s campaign in Malaysia gets the maximum media coverage, but he CANNOT be a  prime minister contender and there seems to no clarity on that issue as well. UMNO and Barisan  is suffering from an identity crisis in the leadership department.

Of course these are only a few broad patterns that emerge from a distance; there are countless more issues if you go into the details. But the overwhelming sense is that NAJIB is NOT genuine leader the perception over the party that he presides – is corrupt, faction ridden and its base leaders have no connect with the people. Untill najib  manages to fill up these potholes of distrust and knock down a few roadblocks of race and leadership considerations – his poll campaign will have to wait another five years to taste victory.
