Rajinikanth sweetly refers to his Robot co-star as Tamila. Jayalalitha reciprocated the gesture by sending a reply letter to the actor thanking him for greeting her and wishing him speedy recovery.

I’d liked to be called Aishwarya” is what we were told by the lovely Aishwarya Rai Bachchansometime ago. Even Abhishek said that his wife prefers being called Aishwarya and not Ash.

Well, we wonder what the lady has to say about this one. Recently, our sources told us that Superstar Rajinikanth sweetly refers to his Robot co-star as Tamila. The story is this: Aishwarya managed to learn Tamil while shooting for Robot, and dubbed her lines with so much ease that Rajini was mighty impressed. And she was honoured with the new name: Tamila. Well, considering that the Bachchan bahu doesn’t want the media to call her Ash, the next time around we’d like to try this one. And of course, when Rajini says you are Tamila, you have to be Tamila. Mind it!

Rajini’s ‘Rana’ to resume after a week

The release said soon after the AIADMK swept the April 13 polls, Mr Rajinikanth had sent a letter to Ms Jayalalithaa congratulating her on AIADMK party’s massive victory in the elections. Ms Jayalalitha reciprocated the gesture by sending a reply letter to the actor thanking him for greeting her and wishing him speedy recovery.

The actor’s family and the doctors told the media yesterday that Rajinikanth’s condition was stable and appealed to the fans not to give credence to rumours about his health.

The actor was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on May 18 night for improving his breathing pattern. Hospital sources had said he was getting appropriate treatment and his condition was stable. He was earlier admitted to St Isabel’s Hospital in the city immediately after the Mahurat of his new film “Rana” on April 29 for suspected food poisoning and discharged the same evening. A few days later, he was again admitted to the hospital for viral fever.

He was discharged after a few days, only to be admitted at SRMC on May 13. Concerned over Rajini’s health conditiion, scores of his fans have been offering special worship in temples across the state, praying for his speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, hospital sources told UNI that the actor’s condition was improving.

”It’s better than yesterday”, the sources said, adding his vital parameters were normal. Special prayers and poojas were also offered at the Raghavendra and Sai Baba temples in the city.

Fans also pulled a silver chariot. His fans also offered prayers at a church in southern Kanniyakumari district, reports received here said.

The shooting of superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Rana’ was launched at a glittering function last Friday.  Unfortunately, Rajini fell ill on the same afternoon and had to be hospitalized.  Though he has been discharged from the Hospital, sources close to him say that he has been advised ‘some’ rest and won’t start shooting till next Friday.

After the muhurat, Rajini and Deepika Padukone shot for a duet sequence for some time when Rajini complained of stomach-ache and then vomited incessantly.  He was then rushed to the Isabel Hospital in Mylapore where he was treated for ‘indigestion’.

Dr. Krishnamurthy of Isabel Hospital said that Rajini was feeling fine after the treatment and added that his blood pressure, pulse and breathing were just perfect.  After advising him to rest completely for a few days, the doctors discharged him from the hospital.

The hospitalization of Rajini, seen as a very healthy individual, sent anxious wavesamong his fans and well-wishers who thronged the Hospital.  They dispersed from the Hospital only after Rajini was discharged.  Ravikumar, the director, said that Rajini must have felt exhausted as he had been involved in the script-making of the film for the past many days and invited many VIPs over phone for the launch which made him keep awake around midnight the previous day.
